Celebrating our 20th Signature cohort at Government House

It was another amazing finale for the Signature Leadership Program, as our 20th cohort celebrated their graduation in the beautiful surrounds of the Government House Ballroom, on Friday 22 November 2024.

Participants were joined by their partners, family, managers and colleagues to share in this milestone occasion.

The evening commenced with Trevor Stack’s warm and engaging Welcome to Country.

His Excellency the Honourable Chris Dawson AC APM, the Governor of Western Australia and Co-Patron of Leadership WA, alongside Mrs Dawson, then addressed the cohort, congratulating them on their outstanding achievements and dedication to leadership.

Governor Dawson recognised their dedication over the 10-month Program and encouraged them to go forward and continue to make a difference, that social impact takes conscious and deliberate effort to effect change and to inspire others.

The Ceremony included comments from Leadership WA Chair, Angie Paskevicius and Leadership WA CEO, Dominique Mecoy OAM, before the presentation of certificates by the Governor. Formalities culminated in Signature Leadership Development Manager, Fiona Winfield announcing the 2024 Valedictorian, Julian Canny of Euphoria.

Julian gave a warm, funny and earnest speech, reflecting on his Signature journey. He spoke to the unexpected impact it had on him and the cohort, and the indelible connections they have made with each other. Connections that will endure long into the future.

To close the evening, Dominique reflected on an inspirational quote that the cohort shared at their Closing Retreat,

“We won’t change the world in one day, but everything we do will change the world in one way.”

This is exactly what our newest Alumni will do as the courageous leaders they are.
