Core values in leadership

On 18 August at our Rising Leadership Program experience, participants explored their core values. The participants identified two of their own core values, using the 4 aspects of leadership that need to be present for courageous leadership to occur, as identified by Brené Brown: Rumbling with Vulnerability, Living into our Values, Braving Trust, and Learning to Rise.

Understanding these core values are very important, as they are what will help you choose what’s right over what’s easy.

The participants also heard from Brendan Twine, Operations Manager at Mindarie Regional Council (and former Navy Clearance Diver) about high performing teams and the importance of trust.

The cohort also heard from Jason Waller, CEO and Managing Director of InteliCare, and former Royal Australian Air Force pilot. Jason spoke about the importance of clearly communicating to your team what you're trying to achieve and how you're going to get there.
