Announcement from the Leadership WA Board
27 March 2025
The Leadership WA Board wishes to announce the resignation of longstanding CEO, Dominique Mecoy OAM (Signature 2009).
Dom has been the CEO of Leadership WA for over 7 years. In this time, she has led the organisation through a period of significant re-focus and transformation. During her tenure she has overseen some challenging situations, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and celebrated key milestones, including the 20th Anniversary celebrations in 2024. Dom was also instrumental in re-establishing our connection with Founding Partner, Rio Tinto, leading to a new three-year partnership that commenced last year.
Dom has worked diligently to strengthen and grow the organisation’s reputation as the State’s premier provider of experiential leadership development. The demand for Leadership WA’s Programs and Courses, including the bespoke Tailored Solutions, has continued to grow under Dom’s direction. She has cultivated an engaged community of Alumni, Participants, Partners and supporters, who have collectively and positively impacted leadership, community and social outcomes for Western Australians. Dom has also built a formidable team, dedicated to fulfilling Leadership WA’s vision.
Leadership WA Board Chair, Angie Paskevicius, acknowledged Dom’s impact.
“Dom has been committed to Leadership WA for over 15 years, as the CEO for the past seven years, and as an active member of our Alumni community prior, having graduated from the Signature Leadership Program in 2009. The Board and I are grateful for her dedication and diligence in shaping the organisation and creating a connected community of Alumni, Partners and Western Australian leaders.”
The Board thanks Dom for her strong leadership, during sometimes challenging circumstances, and for her commitment and contribution to Leadership WA’s ongoing success. We wish her every success in her future endeavours.
Dom will continue in her role until the end of August, when she will head off for a well-deserved break overseas. This timeframe will enable the Board to undertake a comprehensive recruitment process to select Leadership WA’s new CEO; a passionate leader aligned to our vision of courageous leadership shaping a better WA.
